Career prospects

From financial modelling to car crash analysis, bioinformatics to aerodynamics simulation, drug design to earthquake prediction, medical imaging to oil recovery, a host of diverse and exciting careers exist. The major employment sectors for both computational majors and minors are life sciences, materials, finance, and defence industries and institutions. Our graduates are also welcomed by IT industry because of their training in scientific thinking as well as computer programming.

A recent survey from National University of Singapore shows that computational science graduates take a wide variety of jobs and decent salaries due to their adaptability and flexibility.

Our graduates have found jobs in both local companies and international companies like the Seatle headquarters of Microsoft. Many have continued their postgraduate studies in top Universities like Stanford, some with prestigious fellowships such as the Chandrasekhar fellowship at University Chicago.
